Kobalt Signs Global Deal with Eslabon Armado’s Pedro Tovar via His Armado Publishing Company

Los Angeles, CA (March 19, 2025) - Kobalt, the largest independent music publisher in the world, announced today the signing of a worldwide publishing deal with Armado Publishing, Eslabon Armado frontman and songwriter Pedro Tovar. Eslabon Armado is the first-ever Musica Mexicana group to reach No.1 on Billboard’s Global 200, and in the process, redefined the genre’s global commercial potential. Last week, Eslabon Armado released their anticipated album “Vibras de Noche II”, and in less than 24 hours hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s U.S. Latin chart, becoming the first album to dethrone Bad Bunny’s “DTMF” since its release in January 2025. They also debuted No. 5 on Apple Music’s U.S. Top Albums chart, behind Drake, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Tate McRae.

“Pedro Tovar is one of the most exciting artists and songwriters making music today,” said Nestor Casonu, President of Kobalt Music Latin America. “Through this partnership, we've had the privilege of understanding the values of an extraordinary family, led by Doña Nelly, with whom we've built both a professional and personal bond. I’m excited about the great things we’ll achieve together in the future."

"I'm excited to join the Kobalt Music family in this new career stage,” said Tovar. “As a songwriter, I have always sought a company that values creativity and provides the necessary support to elevate my music to a global audience. I know that with Kobalt, I’ll continue growing and sharing my stories through my songs.”

Eslabon Armado has taken Musica Mexicana to new levels, defying cultural barriers to surpass all expectations in the most unconventional way possible. The band’s global hit “Ella Baila Sola,” was the longest-running Number One hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and the first Musica Mexicana title to go Number One on Billboard’s Global 200. The track was crowned Spotify Global’s Song of the Summer, named Variety's Hitmakers “Collaboration of the Year”, and certified 21 times Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

Along the way, the band became the first Musica Mexicana group to perform on Good Morning America and had a historic appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Recently, the group announced their upcoming U.S. and their first-ever tour dates in Mexico for their Vibras De Noche Tour.

“At Kobalt, we want to sign songwriters who have singular voices that resonate with a wide audience,” said Teresa Romo, Kobalt’s Senior Creative Director for Latin America. “Our partnership with Pedro Tovar represents an exciting new phase in his songwriting career, and we're honored to support his creative independence and nurture  new opportunities.”

Armando Publishing was represented in the deal by Christopher Navarro, partner at  Singh, Singh & Trauben LLP.
