Kobalt Signs British Sensation Rudimental
NEW YORK AND LONDON - August 30, 2017 – Kobalt, an independent music services company, built for artists, songwriters, publishers and labels as an alternative to the traditional music business model, announced it has signed the East London (UK) electronic music collective, Rudimental. The worldwide agreement includes publishing administration for all of Rudimental’s future works, starting with their latest single, “Sun Comes Up”.

Rudimental came together in 2009 as the name for the duo Piers Agget and Kesi Dryden. They were later joined by Amir Amor and DJ Locksmith and went on to score their first hit in 2012, with “Feel the Love” feat. John Newman which became a UK number one. In 2013, their debut album ‘Home’ was released and quickly went straight to number one in the UK charts. The number one single “Waiting All Night” feat. Ella Eyre won a BRIT Award for Best British Single in the same year.
In 2015, “Bloodstream” feat. Ed Sheeran scored another big hit and the group geared up for the release of their second album “We the Generation”. “Lay It All on Me” also feat. Ed Sheeran became the group’s first US charting song and also went platinum in the UK, Australia and in many other countries.
