MIAMI - MAY 24, 2018 – Kobalt, a music and technology company built for artists, songwriters, publishers and labels as an alternative to the traditional music business model, announced that it has signed award-winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Prince Royce.
“We are thrilled to welcome superstar singer/songwriter Prince Royce to the Kobalt family. Prince Royce has transcended borders and genres and is positioned to take over the globe,” said Kobalt Music President, Latin America, Nestor Casonu and VP Creative, Latin America, Leslie Ahrens of the deal.
“I am happy to be working with Kobalt and look forward to them representing my music for many years to come,” expressed Prince Royce.
"We are genuinely excited to be working with Kobalt. Nestor and Leslie have been passionate about working with Royce for a long time. And passion wins out, especially when combined with a finely tuned company like Kobalt," added Royce’s manager David Sonenberg of DAS Communications.
The worldwide agreement includes publishing administration for all of Prince Royce’s future works as well as many of his past hits including “Te Me Vas”, “Incondicional”, “Las Cosas Pequeñas” and “Te Perdiste Mi Amor” with Thalia. The agreement also includes administration of the standout single “Sensualidad” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, as well as his most recent single, “El Clavo” which is poised to become a smash hit.
Since releasing his triple-platinum, self-titled debut album in 2010, the New York-born singer and songwriter Prince Royce has become a bona fide Latin-music superstar by bringing a mix of Bachata music (a romantic, acoustic guitar-driven style that originated in the Dominican Republic) and contemporary R&B to the Spanish-speaking world as well as releasing English-language hits “Back It Up” feat. Jennifer Lopez and “Stuck On a Feeling” feat. Snoop Dogg. He has also transitioned nicely to urban Latin music with “Sensualidad” and “El Clavo” proving that he can be successful in just about any genre. Some of his other creative collaborations include: Shakira, Selena Gómez, Chris Brown, Pitbull, Maná, Daddy Yankee, among others.
Prince Royce has scored 15 number-one hits collectively on Latin radio charts, won 22 Latin Billboard Awards, 19 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards (Univision), 19 Premios Juventud Awards (Univision), two Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs), and earned 11 Latin Grammy nominations.
Royce has a massive fan base with over 55 million followers on social media and he has sold out many of the most prestigious venues in Latin America and the United States.
