Kobalt Signs 3-Time Grammy Award Winning Producer Dem Jointz To Publishing Deal

JUNE 7, 2022 – Kobalt today announced that it has signed multi-platinum and 3-time Grammy Award Winning producer Dem Jointz to a worldwide publishing administration agreement, including global synch and creative services for his future songs.

Dwayne Allen Abernathy Jr., better known by his stage name Dem Jointz has produced tracks for numerous artists, including Kanye West, Chris Brown, Eminem, Rihanna, Anderson Paak, and more. Dem Jointz co-produced four tracks on Compton, the third and latest studio album by Dr. Dre, and several tracks on Janet Jackson's Billboard 200 number 1 album “Unbreakable.”  He has also worked extensively on the album “Donda” by Kanye West, providing production work or additional vocals on songs such as "Jail," which won a 2022 Grammy for Best Rap Song, “Believe What I Say,” “Keep My Spirit Alive” among others.

His work has earned him chart-topping success in the massive K-Pop scene with artists NCT 127, who sold 2.1 million units within the first week of releasing their “Sticker” album, and EXO, where his song “Obsession” was voted K-Pop Song of the Year by Billboard. He’s produced several #1 multi-platinum singles and albums in Korea and is cornering the rapidly growing K-Pop market one hit at a time.
