MAY 5, 2022 – Kobalt today announced that it has signed $NOT to a global publishing administration deal. The worldwide agreement includes publishing administration, including global synch and creative services for all of $NOT’s catalog and future songs.
$NOT emerged to become one of the most popular young rappers globally, building a loyal fanbase with his misanthropic charm, keen sense of visuals and melodies, and nonchalant swagger. The Beautiful Havoc standout “Mean” with Flo Milli has become a TikTok favorite, with users creating over 700 thousand videos using the song. $NOT’s reserved yet self-assured attitude sets him apart from the chaotic South Florida Soundcloud scene that shaped him.
Since releasing his breakout single “GOSHA” — which boasts over 236 million Spotify streams to date — he has proven that he’s here to stay thanks to a pair of GOLD records (including “Moon & Stars” ft. Maggie Lindemann), a standout appearance on Cochise’s Platinum-selling Hot 100-charting “Tell ‘Em”, and placements in vital TV series like HBO’s Euphoria (“Billy Boy”) and FX’s Atlanta (“Doja”). Most recently, $NOT released his album Ethereal, home to the single “Doja” ft. A$AP Rocky, which reached #87 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ethereal debuted at #66 on the Billboard 200 and generated more than 80 million streams across platforms since its release.
Commenting on the deal, $NOT said, “I’m happy about my decision to join the Kobalt team. Their technology is second to none, and the team fully understands my needs.”
“It was important for us to find a home where $NOT’s vision and goals would be prioritized,” said Jake Markow, $NOT’s manager, “And we felt that Jill and the rest of the Kobalt team were on the same page as us. We’re excited to take this next step in $NOT’s career and grow his publishing business with Kobalt.”
Said Kobalt VP, Creative, Jill Tschogl, "It’s impressive what $Not has been able to accomplish in a short time. He’s an artist you can’t put in a box and a star in the making. We are excited to support him as he continues to rise and support his goals of writing across genres.”
